GETTING ON THE ROAD
After our dinky little car rental outlet could only provide 4 people with a Pontiac G5 Coupe for the trip we almost took Donald's car as well... but we played around with it a little and managed to fit all 4 of us in!!!
The drive is through spectacular Glenwood Springs Canyon as the sun is setting... we left the Buff at 16:55 surprisingly 5mins early rather than an hour late! But with in a few hours and shortly after a very disappointing boarder crossing - we found ourselves in a very predictable predicament for a road trip...
With very little to see driving at night 10 hours later we arrived in the outskirts of Las Vegas....
The US has a standing traffic rule that... you can turn right on red lights unless otherwise posted. (The equivalent of a left hand turn on red back home for clarification) The 'shagging' road that was shut was the road to Cameron's hotel the 4 Queens where his girlfriend Linda from LA had already arrived a few hours earlier at about 22:00 we were arriving from Colorado at about 02:00... so we made it in about 9 hours Nevada being an hour behind Colorado!
Not a hugely exciting blog but at least its NEW!
